MARIANA TRENCH POLLUTED BY SINGLE USE PLASTIC

It has been revealed by a recent study done by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology(JAMSTEC) that plastic has been found in the deepest point of the Pacific Ocean- the Mariana Trench. This fact alone is horrifying enough. Mankind has managed to impact even the darkest, deepest part of our ocean along with the life forms that live down there. The same study done by JAMSTEC also found that 17% of images of plastic in the Deep Sea Debris Database involved animals entangled among the trash. We need to take action to stop this. This information was found by looking through the Deep Sea Debris Database, a collection of photos taken of the ocean from 5,010 dives over the past 30 years. Worse yet, 89% of the plastic logged into the database was single use.
Guys, we can do so much better than this. To protect our ocean life and our Earth we have to stop using single use plastics. We only have one Earth. We need to take care of it. KeapEarthGreen! Let’s do this!
