Getting Outdoors

It’s been about a month since we’ve been allowed to leave our homes so I can only imagine how much cabin fever we’re all getting. Today I’m going over some fun activities to do outdoors while also social distancing.

  1. Go to a park. Now some parks have closed because workers were starting to get sick so if you choose to go to one you have to be careful to stay six feet away from others while you’re enjoying nature. If you’re worried about going outside, national parks are finding ways to enjoy them online. You can find more about that here.
  2. Learn a new sport. Basketball is easy enough if you have a hoop, but it isn’t the only sport you can do in your driveway. If you have chalk, you can draw a tennis/pickle-ball court and play with your family. If you have a net even better but you don’t necessarily need one to volley. You can also play soccer and lacrosse outside in your driveway or yard.
  3. If you’re not into sports… you can just go outside and read or play cards. If it’s raining and you have a porch, you enjoy nature from there.
  4. Take photos. This activity is really easy because all you need is a phone and some light. You can take photos of almost anything and once you’re done, you might end up with some great photos.

That’s it for now. You don’t have to go outside every day but make a habit of going out once or twice or week or opening the windows for some fresh air. Nature is good for us all, especially in times like these.
